Marine passive decoys, or marine multi-faceted corner reflectors, will have special properties such as a high RCS in small dimensions close to the RCS of ships, having the same doppler value and high effectiveness in the electronic warfare environment. For this reason, they are used as one of the main tools for radar and missile seeker deception; Therefore, distinguishing the false decoy target from the ship's main target is an important issue in increasing radar accuracy. In this paper, we discussed the separation of the ship from the marine passive decoy using the system identification method. For this purpose, we first extracted the transfer function of each target at three signal-to-noise ratios of 13, 16, and 19 dB and analyzed the behavior of zeros and poles, the RMSE rate, and the required processing time in two constant and adaptive RMSE modes. Using available zeros and poles, we presented different feature spaces to distinguish the main target of the ship from the false target of the marine passive decoy. These feature spaces include the three-dimensional feature space of the number of zeros - the number of poles and the poles absolute mean and the space of the location of the zeros and poles in the S-plane. In order to prove the effectiveness of the proposed feature spaces, three-dimensional plots of the changes in the number of poles, the number of zeros, and the poles absolute mean were presented at different SNRs. We concluded that by increasing the SNR from 13 to 19 dB, the estimation RMSE decreased from 60 to 84 percent. In this paper, we showed that the constant RMSE mode compared to the adaptive one, although it is less accurate; But it reduces processing time by 97% in some targets.
