Deception jamming of the main beam of the radar is an efficient method to reduce the effectiveness of the radar in detecting real targets. Detecting and Suppression with deception targets is one of the necessities of radar in the electronic warfare environment. This paper proposes a practical method for suppressing jamming by analyzing the time and frequency structure as well as the polarization characteristics of both jamming and real target signals, which can suppress jamming up to 25dB. By analyzing received signals in the main and auxiliary channels to detect the presence of jamming signals and examine these differences, the main-to-auxiliary channel ratio is determined. The jamming suppression coefficient is calculated for different time units to prevent the inadvertent removal of real targets when both the target and jamming signals are located in the same range resolution cell. The influences of background noise and polarization purity are analyzed finally. The proposed method can attenuate the ISRJ jamming in an LFM radar by about 25 dB, without attenuating the real target signal. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through theoretical analysis and simulation results.
